Passage: Romans 5 (NLT)
Today: Hope that does not disappoint us!
3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. (Rom 5, NLT) emphasis added
There are many things we hope for in life. Our basic life runs on a hope that tomorrow will be better than today!
But many hopes may not materialize. Even if they do, there comes a day when we have to leave all that is earthly. So the greatest hope to have is a hope about that which is heavenly
We read in the scripture above that this hope, the hope of salvation will not disappoint us- for those who have come through the endurance of so many trials and problems building up the strength of character
The hope in Christ is better than hope in any government/organization or people
They change words like wind; it doesn’t know where it comes from or goes to
They promise one thing in the morning and forgets the same by afternoon
But God is not like that. He never changes and so is His word. His love towards us is shown in the fact that He was pleased to send the Holy Spirit to fill us and be with us. People change promises when their love changes. God’s love is constant, so we can rely upon it. Our hope in God will not disappoint us!
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Tim 1, NLT)
Thank God for His gift-the greatest gift of giving himself to us!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your love and the hope you have filled me with. Let me not put anything else before that. I thank you for the trials and problems you took me through, victoriously, and for the strength of character! Amen
