Restore, return, renew

Welcome!

Passage:  Lamentations 5 (NIV 84)

Today: Restore, return, renew

19 You, O Lord, reign forever; your throne endures from generation to generation. 20 Why do you always forget us? Why do you forsake us so long? 21 Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may return; renew our days as of old 22 unless you have utterly rejected us and are angry with us beyond measure. (Lamentations 5, NIV 84)  emphasis added

God’s kingdom is forever, just as God is. God’s word is the rule of the church, which is the body of Christ. The world’s rule keeps changing as the rulers change. But God’s law never changes, and so is His word, His rules

When church chooses to change its rules to simply adapt to the changes in the world, there could be a problem; there are people outside the church who don’t agree with some of the rules of the land. They are expecting the church to take the right stand on things. If they happen to find out that the church (in many cases), is after power, politics and possessions, they will weep for the church!

We don’t have enough intercessors inside the church, but we have many outside!

Do we believe, our hands make all the money we have? We may say God gave it all, but we handle it like “I made it all”! It is like saying “In God we trust”, while the actual trust is in “Gold”, not God!

10 When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, 11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, 12 be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. (Deu 6, NIV 84)

If we want God to come near to us, we need to get closer to Him

It is all about a restoration. If we follow the practice followed by others in the church, we may not make it to heaven, because many of them have no plans to go there. We better make sure we are going in the right direction

If we go to a ceremony like a wedding or a funeral, there may be a distance between two venues. There will always be people following people in cars, thinking “the guy ahead of me is going there, so I can follow”. But it can so happen that the person in front is going elsewhere! So, the best way is to speak to them before following. When you speak, you will know where they are going!

There are many in the church wondering, “where is this going to?”. But then, as they cry unto the Lord, God will show them the way. It is time to stop following the trends and the people, and to follow God. The sinners may continue doing the same; those who want to make it to God have to follow a different path

May God give you a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being my role model. I know it is possible to be a Godly person and be human, caring for others, while taking care of spirituality. Thank you for showing me the model.  Help me to show mercy as you did; Amen

When we take the right stand for God, He will take the right stand for us!
