Give thanks!

Welcome!

Passage: Psalm 103 (NIV 84)

Today:Give thanks!

1 Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. 2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, 5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103, NIV 84) emphasis added

I have a real-life story here. Imagine something like this happening: you keep a door open for somebody. They just walk through it-no “thanks”-nothing. The same person walks another ten feet and another person opens a door for him. He says “a thousand”  thanks  to that person! How would you feel?

What hurts God the most, is that “His own” does not recognize Him, but they recognize others. They worship anyone else but God!

In the US, people are very loving and thankful. You hear a lot of “thanks” throughout the day, and you say them too. But when it comes to God, it is a different story(!) Many people fail/forget to say “thank you” to God!

Recently, I was just studying the prayer taught by our Lord to His disciples

There is only one sentence that speaks about our daily needs: “give us this day, our daily bread”. We may say, “I work and earn money, and I buy my bread”

God wants us to acknowledge that it is because of God that we are able to work, earn and eat. If the Lord shuts our supply, that’s it!

We see people struggling to make money, having no time to eat a good meal or to take a good sleep.

On the other hand, when many people don’t get proper sleep, there is a girl who sleeps 19 hrs a day, because of a syndrome called sleeping beauty syndrome!

Let us be thankful for giving us enough sleep-not more, nor less. If that is not your case, get it. No point postponing life, for later!

God brought Israelites out of the Egypt and through the red-sea, but they became thankless. That hurt God the most. Many perished because of that!

When we fail to give thanks due unto God, we come up with other “gods”!

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. (Rom 1, NIV 84)

Just give thanks to God and . God is good.

Have a nice day

Prayer: Father God, thank you for your love and for choosing us to be yours!  It is nothing but your grace, because of which we are alive, we breath, drink, eat and work. We say this in the most precious name of our savior Lord Jesus; Amen

A “thankless” life could be the most horrible life!
