Passage: Isaiah 40 (Amp)
Today: Strong and powerful, to do exploits!
29 He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound]. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and [selected] young men shall feebly stumble and fall exhausted; 31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired. (Isaiah 40, Amp) -emphasis added
If someone went to a doctor and told him they are very weak, and if the doctor tells them to just “wait” for a few days and they will be all right, they will think that the doctor is crazy. Instead, they expect the doctor to give some prescription. People also build strength through exercise/working out regularly
Here, we read that one can renew their strength by just waiting upon the Lord,
and such people will become powerful like an eagle!
The other day, someone was speaking about the uniqueness of an eagle
It spreads its wings so wide that it can measure about seven feet, from one end to the other. Their eyes are extremely sharp to spot things very far
They soar to the heights. An eagle usually lays two eggs at a time and they have their nest high up. The stronger of the two, when hatched, will kill the weaker!
It is a terrestrial being and rarely seen on the ground. It is never seen with other birds. One eagle has been spotted to have air-lifted its prey, a deer, weighing about 15 pounds (over 6 kgs).
Anyway, our topic is not eagle. Those who wait upon the Lord will have a new vision, new strength and new lifestyle. They will be thinking different from everyone around them. They will soar high
When the Holy Spirit came upon the 120, they were really changed!
These “chicken-like”, scary, Peter and others were changed in a moment!
If this power comes on us, our children, they will be changed like that!
When we commit ourselves to prayer and reading of the word, if we will change our perspectives and lifestyle from that which is earthly to that which is heavenly, God will do great things
In Him, we have answer to our questions. If we are concerned about our children/young generation, go to God in prayer.
He will send His power upon them and change
If we can sit in his presence an hour or so for a few days, we will see the change
It is time to change our regular routine and spent more time with God, as His coming is very near. And we shall mount up like eagles, not chickens!
We shall come out of the “nest”, and deal with the serpents, as some eagle does!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your power and strength. You empowered us so that we will no longer stay as we are right now, but get out and do exploits for you, like an eagle! Give us a new, heavenly vision and lifestyle. Amen
We can’t expect to be treated like an eagle, when we choose to live like a chicken!
