Doing it God’s way, together

Welcome!

Today: Doing it God’s way, together

Passage: Rom 12

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Rom 12, NKJV 84) –emphasis added

What do we do, when we are sure that a certain thing is God’s will and another person so close to us cannot agree with it?

That other person could be our spouse/parent/child/friend or anybody like that

First of all, we need to make sure that it is God’s will

I know many people who “jumped” into something because someone told them something or because someone else did a similar thing

Many families struggle because one person felt God was calling him/her into something and the family had to make changes. Later on, they could not cope with the change. They struggle together

When you are having a tough time to convince the other person about God’s specific will on a certain thing, the first step is prayer. God can and will talk to you and the other person. Say, someone prophecy to you that you are to do something. Bring it to God first, in prayer. You are God’s child and let the same God speak to you also. Once convinced that it is God’s will, pray that God will speak more clearly to you and the other person. God will!

Once I was traveling with a ministry friend of mine. When I was through 90% of the way, I felt strongly to go back. My friend could not accept it, but I told him I have to go back anyway. It was good that I did so. Some people were waiting there for a meeting and the person who was supposed to lead, was not there!

The apostles in the first century church were instructed by the Holy Spirit to change the course of their travel several times. They obeyed God

Some people cannot yield to changes that fast. “What I decided I will do” is their style. It is good to have determination, but it is better be flexible to the spirit of God. The best thing is to follow God’s directions

If a superior person in job tells you to make changes to something you did, how good are you in that? Some people will do it once or twice and that’s it!

It is because they feel that it was not done right, that they ask you to change

When God tells us to make changes, and we say “yes” to God, our lives will finally look like how God designed it. Otherwise, the finished product of our lives will look very different from God’s original design/blueprint

May God bless you and help you accomplish His will for your lives

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for speaking to me. Your grace is better than life and your advice is better than my choices. Help me to be sensitive to what you tell me and to make changes so that me and my family will NOT struggle. Amen
