His own, and eager to do good

Welcome!

Today: His own, and eager to do good

Passage: Titus 2

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. (Titus 2, NIV 84) emphasis added

Once we become a child of God, God is interested in our maturity more than anything else. God wants us to get the right food and grow right

One of the devil’s trick is to keep us the same way and never let us grow

He will try it through so many ways. Satan will try to put every possible “roadblock” for the truly anointed,  will “bring up” those with a false anointing!

Just like how a  home is the place where children thrive, church is the place where the children of God should find their place and grow. Parents are to understand the gifts and talents of the children and help them grow in the right direction. Same should happen in the church

If parents fight with each other and win the battle, children are the loosers!

If churches and pastors fight with each other and “win”, poor people loose!

In a recent article in the “Engage” magazine from the Church of God, Cleveland, Rev. William Reid mentions about the “my church” spirit. When we get too much of that “my church” spirit, we become “territorial” minded than “kingdom” minded. In the pursuit of making “me” go up by making “my” church grow up, Christ is often forgotten and left behind!

The Church better go back and pick up Jesus, or it will end up in a disaster!

When God’s agenda becomes the agenda of the Church, it will start going in the right direction, and grow right. Otherwise, the “growth” we see is mere swelling!

God will sometimes allow people to build their own kingdoms, upto a certain extent. When the descendants of Noah wanted to build the tower of Babel, God just stood watching and waiting to see how far they would go. And then, one day, God just did what He had to do!

When we see so much false teachings and false churches come up, we need to understand that God is just waiting to see if they will come back and do it God’s way, or just continue to do it their own way (in God’s name)

There is always a “remnant” crying about the wrong way the church is “growing”

God is closely watching them. They are the “choice ones” of God

3 …….Then the LORD called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side 4 and said to him, “Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.” 5 As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. 6 Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple. (Ezekiel 9, NIV 84)

The day of the Lord’s coming and judgment are near.

Keep watching for Christ’s appearance, so that you won’t miss it

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for talking to me again. I receive the strength and energy for my daily living from you, like from no body else. Create in me an eagerness to live Christ and do the good your good works. Thank you. Amen
