The way God sees things!

Welcome!

Today: The way God sees things!

Passage: 1 Sam 13, 2 Sam 12

13 “You acted foolishly,” Samuel said. “You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel
for all time. 14 But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him leader of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.” (1 Sam 13)

The above incident occurred about two years after Saul became the King. He was “out”! But he was the namesake king of Israel for another 38 years, and ruined Israel as much as he could! Two years was just 5% of forty years

Later, as David became the King, he did something terrible as well

16 So while Joab had the city under siege, he put Uriah at a place where he knew the strongest defenders were. 17 When the men of the city came out and fought against Joab, some of the men in David’s army fell; moreover, Uriah the Hittite died. (2 Sam 12, NIV)

While his people were engaged in severe fight, David was having a “break”

We know the story. He saw Bethsheba, the wife of one of his own soldiers and had her become his wife, killing Uriah. As a King, it was not very difficult for him!

If we misuse the freedom we have because of our title/position, beware!

In the New Testament, God says, if we think of something like that in our mind, it is equivalent to doing that. If David was living today, the moment he lusted after Bethsheba and dreamed about the death of Uriah, it was just like he did it!

David repented seriously. That is the difference between David of the O.T and the “Davids” of today! Once repented, David never repeated anything like that

He was clean in his thoughts as well as actions!

What David did was still a serious sin, but what Saul did was even worse, in God’s eyes! Saul’s was connected to sacrifice/worship

Saul justified himself while David repented. David still had to pay a price

Today, when people play politics and games in the church or when leaders do the same, they make it look light. But when a bad news spreads about somebody, people spread it religiously and do everything possible to broadcast it!

No one has time to spread the good news about Jesus or His coming!

It is time to pick up our job and do it. When Jesus comes, we better be awake!

Have a blessed day, as we decide to take God’s things more seriously!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me from your heart and saving me and seperating me for you. Help me to do my part responsibly, in your kingdom and not to waste a second judging others, but only myself.Thank you, my King! Amen

“One day, God will let us (His people) judge the world; until then, we better wait (to judge others)”
