When love makes sense

Welcome!

Today: When love makes sense

Passage: Eph 5

28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body (Eph 5, NIV)

Mentioned above is a verse men rarely preach

I don’t blame them. It is hard to preach certain verses, like the one above

Christ loves the Church for life, not just for a few years

Many families break apart because of friends

People listen to friends or they get too close with someone

When we keep listening to anything other than the word of God too much, there is a possibility to drift

For some reason, the Bible is read very little, and that is the root cause of many problems. It is important to memorize and even write some of the verses in big letters-put it somewhere you can see clearly

Christ loves the Church whole heartedly, 100%

Love is different from lust; love is about “what can I give?”, whereas lust is about “what can I get?” only. In lust, “what can I give?” does not come at all!

Lust can be about a person, their wealth, education or beauty

When “what can I get?” becomes the motivating factor, “Lust” is dominating

Love is not something we give, in exchange of something.

Love is about our character, than about the other person’s.
That is why, it is not easy to love, unlike lust, which is very easy

Marriage is a covenant; but today, many marriages are just contracts

Jesus was never about “what can I get?”. He was only about “what can I give?”

We need God’s help and grace, to keep the family together

90% of the issues are solvable, but people don’t want to solve

They rather need change. When parents win the fight, children loose

Lust is expensive moneywise; love is expensive, patience-wise

True love makes the most sense where there is no reason to love

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Cor 13, NIV)-emphasis added

One of the most difficult things, is to Love-truly love

But with God’s help, we can

God bless

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to practice what your word says, and not what others say. Help me to listen to you more and more, and not to
listen to those who speak the opposite of what your word says. Amen
