Making ourselves more presentable

Welcome!

Today: Making ourselves more presentable

Passage: Eph 5

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless (Eph 5, NIV)

We usually speak of discipline, to keep someone clean. Can love do the same thing?

That is what Jesus did. He loved us, even when we were enemies. His love compells us to be more like Him. His word cleanses us and makes us “presentable” to God

Wives should make themselves “presentable” to their husabnds and husbands should do the same. We need to take care of ourselves-not just
make-ups, but even some exercise! Some say, it doesn’t matter. The fact is, it does matter

We live in a world of many seperations and divorces. When we get tired at the end of the day, it is time to refresh, have a nice shower and have some good food, have a nice family prayer and make a pleasant night

As Jesus makes the Church more presentable, the husband can tell the wife what makes her more presentable to himself and vice-versa

I have seen fights between couples on such issues-like how the husband wants the wife’s blouse to be and so on. Sometimes women want to save too much on cloth but the husband doesn’t. He would rather save at the restaurant!

Let us look at how Jesus wants us to be. He wants us to live a life that is presentable to Him. Today, that has become a big problem

The Church is going more and more away from the standard of Jesus and getting closer to the standard of the world

If there is a dress code in school/work, people adide by the rules. When the same person comes to Church, things change. We need to respect God and His presence more than school or work

Jesus wants us  to be without any stain, wrinkle or blemish. Satan should not be able to point fingers at us, infront of the Father

We do many things that look spiritual; but in the heart, we may be carnal!

Jesus did the most He could, for us. Now, it is our turn

God bless your day

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your saving act on the cross and for continuing to love me, regardless of my actions or even prayer. I
owe so much to you. Help me to live a life that is pleasing to you and to my family. Amen
