God who?

Welcome!

Today: God who?

Passage: Eph 4

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Eph 4, NIV )

Is it practical to live the way Bible says?

I have faced that question from a few people at least- sincere questions

I deal with some people who are Christians by name, but feel that the Bible is outdated! God knew that there will be many who don’t believe in God. God knew that this word of God will look “foolish” to many because they look (too) wise in their own eyes. There will come a point in time when they will seek God

The basic nature of man is one where he/she does not want to submit to anyone. Submission takes humility, which leads to a blessing when we submit in Christ.

(When someone is going the wrong way, we cannot follow them)

Without submission, there can’t be true peace in any relationship

Our response to a person depends very much on our attitude, which depends on our understanding of that person and a true understanding of ourselves. God’s word is the mirror that reflects our true, inner nature. Many people put nice make-ups to cover the “real me” in them, but God’s word scans the real “me”!

Many people who put a smile on their face, may be grieving in their heart

Kindness, compassion and true love are very rarely seen in today’s Church as well as outside. One thing we see in the East is that they have more family values, less compassion/giving to those outside their family. Here in the US, we see the nature of helping others very much, even though family values may not be that strong as in the East. We need a good blend of the good in the East and the west- good family values and compassion and concern for others who are even strangers!

When I first came to the US, I was very excited to hear the national and state leaders ending their speeches with “God bless America” and “God bless you”

But then, with the same mouth they are now supporting the things that God hates! When they say “God bless you” next time, God himself must be wondering, “God who?”

Let the words of our mouth and the meditations of our heart be pleasing to the Lord (Ps 19:14)

God bless your day

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you for planting and transplanting us in different parts of the world at different times. Help us to think and speak that which you want us to, encouraging and building others. Amen
