Purpose-driven

Welcome!

Today: Purpose-driven

Passage: Eph 4

16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.  (Eph 4, NIV)-emphasis added

Apostle Paul brings out the mystery that we – the Church is one body-one organism When one person is hurt, everybody is (supposed to be) hurting

When one person rejoices, everybody is (supposed to) be rejoicing

Why then is it that many of us rejoice when certain people are hurt, and we are full of grief and jealousy when certain people are blessed?

The answer is simple: we have to yet become part of the body of Christ

In the verses above, three things are mentioned about the body:

Joined together, growing up and each part doing its work

When an infant grows, each part of his/her body grows in the same proportion

If the legs grow and hands remain the same as they were born, it will look awkward

When the Church grows overall, there should also be growth in each person

A child of two years can lift up to one pound or so, but when twenty years old, he/she must be able to lift way more than one pound!

Elsewhere, Apostle Paul painfully mentions that many of us, after being born as a child of God, has not taken time to grow, yet feeding on baby-food!

We also act like babies, still reading the word of God in KG level and praying the same way as we were, many years back

The lack of spiritual maturity in parents will be reflected in the children

The lack of spiritual maturity in the Pastors will be reflected in the Church

We better grow; otherwise, we will be the ones who suffer the most in the end.

If parents/pastors don’t mature spiritually, they will suffer in the end

When things go bad, we can blame others, but that does not solve the problem

Take the case of a group song with instruments involved:

If there is unity and each person is mature enough and does their part, you hear a beautiful sound. But sometimes you see the instruments played much louder than the vocals (because the some individual wants their performance to be heard appreciated by everybody) it destroys the purpose of the whole event

When driven by purpose, the ultimate goal will be that the song should be a good one, then each person will perform their roles correctly, and a beautiful song/melody will come out. Everyone will enjoy that

Hope you got the message. Same thing works for family as well as Church

Have a blessed day; be part of a purpose-driven family/Church!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for exposing me. Your word is so powerful and straight forward. It is the mirror that reflects the real “me” and there is no other book that does that job like the Bible. Thanks for your word. Amen
