Welcome!
Today: Knowing God and standing strong
Passage: Eph 4
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. (Eph 4, NIV)
32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. (Daniel 11, NKJV)-emphasis added
Two sources are mentioned here, that affect a child of God: wrong teaching and the cunning and crafty scheming of men
We see people becoming victims of both; wrong teachings on the one side; deceitful scheming with selfish motives, on the other
Jesus told that He himself shall build the church and that Satan will come against it, but won’t succeed. (Mt 16:18)
The key is that we should know God as he is and be rooted in Him
Knowing God is a life-long process. Apostle Paul stresses on that very much. His desire was to know Christ as much as he could
Isaiah had a vision of God. A closer knowledge of God changed him completely
Once we know God well, we can discern the wrong teachings and deceitful schemes of the devil. Knowing God takes knowing the word of God
Many “sincere” people become victims of devil’s schemes because they don’t compare the teachings of certain people with the word of God
When we know God as we should, it is not easy for others to cheat us
The “strength/health” of a person will be known only when it is tested
People who look strong need not be strong; the health of a person will be reveled when that person is exposed to some unhealthy atmosphere
A healthy body will resist sickness better than an unhealthy body
A healthier/stronger Christian will stand strong in the midst of various problems
Recently, a family was sleeping in a tent while a tree fell on them and killed the man. The tree looked strong and no one doubted it would fall
The tree was not having its roots down in the strong soil
If we don’t have our roots in Christ, we are likely to fall
People who know their God will not only be strong, but will also do wonders/exploits for God. They will be busy. They always have got something to do
Peter and Paul knew God. Daniel knew God; he did not waver by the king’s stand
God bless you, in your daily endeavor to know god better

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for helping me know you in person. As each day pass by, help me to know you more and more. Help me to be stronger to face the various challenges in life and the various winds and waves of teachings. Amen
