Passage: Eph 3


20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph 3, NIV 84)-emphasis added


7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Mat 7, NIV) –emphasis added


2 You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. (James 4, NIV)-emphasis added


God is more than happy to see someone desiring spiritual gifts

When God, from His end, is eager to shower us with spiritual blessings, it is only a matter of letting the giver of all good gifts know, “I need it!”

If we must ask something to someone, we need to be humble enough, to ask

There are much untapped resources in God. We are not able to tap even a fraction of it, just because we don’t ask for the right(spiritual) things.

If you will get on your knees more often, you will see things and people change

New doors will be opened; people will be blessed through you

Problems will start getting solved one by one

A few of us get together and pray twice or more in the week

We see wonderful results/blessings

It is just prayer; God is the leader. When you pray together, you need to get like-minded people. If you don’t feel comfortable with someone, and you sit together for prayer, nothing good happens. So, make sure there is unity among the ones you pray with. Here in the US, we don’t have much time to waste

We have so many different types of prayer meetings in our Churches; nothing much happens with the majority of them! (please correct me if I am wrong)

Pentecostals/Charismatics are quite known for those F& P (Fasting & Prayers)

Sadly, nothing much happens in most of those prayer-events!

Frankly, what we need is total brokenness and feel some “shame” about ourselves!

Things that don’t happen among the ungodly are happening among our own!

We need to take some of the blame; don’t just say, “It is them and not me!”

True fasting and prayer involves true brokenness and less “show”-ness (Is 58)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to become more like you, in love, selflessness and brokenness. I pray for those affected by the serious incidents in Kerala. Heal those families Oh God. Help us come back to you. Amen
