Today: Filled and led by His spirit and word
Passage: Eph 3
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. (Eph 3, NIV 84)-emphasis added
As Apostle Paul continues his prayer for the Ephesians, his focus is on the spiritual well-being of the people; not on material things
Today, there are many teachings that lead people to focus on the material than on the spiritual. But God is Spirit and He likes to bless us spiritually
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Eph 1:3, NIV 84)-emphasis added
God is rich in the Spirit(ual). He wants to shower those spiritual riches/gifts upon us. God wants us to get rich in the word and the spirit
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Col 3, NIV 84)-emph. added
18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph 5, NIV 84)-emph added
Notice that that the result of being filled with the word and being filled with the Spirit are the same!(Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs)
Christ dwells richly in us when we are rich in the word of God. Do we make an attempt to study the word, in the Spirit?
When we read/study the word in the Spirit, God reveals mysteries to us; then, as we preach the word with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, people get touched. They will grow in Christ. Real miracles will happen. There will be healing in the Spirit, souls and body. Once our inner man gets strong, we can stand strong against the tricks and tactics of the devil
A person looking strong may not be really strong. The real health of a person will be revealed when that person faces an adverse situation/ sickness. Healthier people will be able to resist sickness better than those who are not healthy
It is easy to praise and preach when everything is O.K. But, what would we do, when everything is toppled down and as things go against our expectation?
Many a time, our thoughts are not in line with God’s
Once we are filled by His Spirit and word, we will have a better alignment of our Spirit with God’s; our thoughts and ways will be more in line with God’s
