Today: Unless the Lord builds!
Passage: Ps 127:1 NIV
1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.
The Lord builds the house
The Lord watches over the city
The Lord watches over us, our going and coming! (Ps 121)
Lord God is involved with our life and activities so much
Many a time, we are thankless. We don’t remember that we are alive and well, only because the Lord is watching over us
Psalm 23 is a psalm most people like
Our Lord God is a good shepherd
In Psalm 24, He is a King, the King of Glory!
Being a King and a shepherd at the same time?
These are two extremes.
A shepherd usually watches sheep that does not belong to him
A King has rights over almost everything in the Land
He can have whatever he wants. All he needs is to give orders
Our Lord has the power and authority of a King, but his character and attitude is that of a shepherded who loves his sheep, even to the point of giving away his life!
I was looking back into my own life
How many times did God pull us out of many dangerous situations!
We need to be thankful
When we ask some people, “How are you doing”, they say, “Cannot complain”!
That’s right. We cannot complain, because of the way Lord is watching and protecting us, and our city
But I always see people complaining about what they don’t have, forgetting what they have
In these days when so many people are losing their jobs, homes and even families, we need to be thankful to God
The enemy wants to destroy. But God is a God who always builds
God wants to bring things together, and put them together
He creates, and maintains what he created
Because the Lord builds the house, it will stay
Jesus said, “I will build my church”
Jesus owns and maintains the true church
We see lot of families braking apart; lot of churches breaking apart; lot of cities braking apart-because of economy and so many other things
Even as the Lord watches, sin has crept in
The other day, I was looking into the social studies text book of our son
Water gets into the crack in the rock and then freezes to ice
As the ice forms, it expands and thus breaks up the rock
As we let many things creep into our heart and mind from the internet, friends or anywhere else,
We don’t know the damage it can do for us
Only let good things stay there
All “good things” are not “God things”!
Stuff that looks good to us may not look good in God’s eyes
May God help us to see what is really good and what is really not
Be thankful, above all. Have an attitude of gratitude
God bless

We read about the two types of houses in the Bible, the one which was washed away and the other survived the storm
In both cases of the tree and the house that survived the storm, the common factor is a strong base, a strong grip on a strong ground
Even if a house is built very strong, if it is in a shallow foundation, it will not stand the attack!
