A steadfast heart!

Welcome!

Today: A steadfast heart!

Passage: Eph 3

7 My heart is steadfast, O God,    my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.

9 I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth. (Ps 57, NIV)

David was hiding in a cave, from Saul as he wrote this psalm

The first thing in the morning was to praise and sing unto the Lord!

He is not writing a prayer of complaint; instead, he is praising the love of God. His heart is steadfast

The reason why many of us don’t feel like praying or praising like David, is because of too much comfort

There are different seasons in life. In this one, David chose to hide in God

1 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed. (Ps 57, NIV)

There are times when we should just hide under the wings of our almighty God, and speak to Him alone. Stay there until the disaster has passed!

Even though Saul was responsible for David hiding in the cave, David found it as a great opportunity to praise God and to pray!

So, when such times come in our life, just use it for good, and not waste it!

If you have to wait somewhere for a long period, it is a good time to read or pray!

When someone offends you, it is a good opportunity to show the love of God and forgiveness. Praise God for that

Joseph was not mad at his brothers, even though they intended harm for him

19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them. (Gen 50)

Joseph climbed the ladder all the way up because of this nature of Joseph

On the cross, Jesus prayed that the people who were crucifying him be forgiven

2 I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purpose for me.
3 He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those who hotly pursue me; (ps 57, NIV)

God has a plan, a purpose for you and for me. Just let God fulfill that

When it is complete, we will come out as the best

God bless you

Prayer: Father God, please fulfill your purpose for me. When adversities come, help me to hide under your wings and praise you, instead of complaining or talking to everybody else. Let my thoughts, words and actions be pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
