Today: ASK (Ask, Seek, Knock)


Passage: Eph 3


20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Eph 3, NIV 84)


29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31 But eagerly desire[e] the greater gifts. (1 Cor 12, NIV)-emp. added


God is more than happy to see someone desiring spiritual gifts

When God, from His end, is eager to shower us with spiritual blessings, it is only a matter of letting the giver of all good gifts, “I need it!”

We are so careful about those “special sale” and other coupons some of these companies/stores give; but we don’t care for the Spiritual blessings that God is offering, totally free. One day that will be over; the doors will be closed!

So, God was pleased to shower those gifts on those new believers in the remote villages of India, Africa, South America and other parts of the world

Someone who earnestly desire something will let the “giver of the gift” know that, at least in three ways

Seeking” is one of the first things to do. If we want to buy a certain product that we love so dearly, we do as much research as possible browsing on the internet/books/magazines or other sources and also by talking to people who already have it. When we desire spiritual blessings/gifts, we do a similar thing; study about them and talk to people who already have it. Let God know that we are seeking it intensely

Knocking” is how we let God know we are there. When we knock, God will tell us “I am here; go ahead”. God has already promised us that He will open the door, when we knock. When we knock the doors of many earthly sources, they don’t respond, most of the time. But God has time for you and me. So, instead of wasting our time elsewhere, knock on God’s door first. We need to separate some time. When we knock, pay attention; listen if we hear God’s voice.

Asking” is what we do, as God opens the door to and meet with us

One thing we must know is that God will not say “No” when we ask for spiritual blessings. With material/physical or other blessings, the answer could be “yes/no/wait”


7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Mat 7, NIV)


That is God’s promise; God will keep His word

May God richly bless you with His gifts; if we never did the “ASK” (Asking, Seeking & Knocking), now is the time. Don’t wait for tomorrow..!

Prayer: Father, thank you for receiving us as your sons through Jesus, where we don’t deserve even to be a slave. You made me worthy of ALL that is in heaven, and blessed us with ALL the spiritual blessings in Christ. Thanks. In Jesus’ name; Amen
