Passage: Eph 1, Prov 4
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. (Eph 1, NIV 84)-emphasis added
The work of Jesus Christ on the cross was a big take-back!
He took back what was lost in the Garden of Eden; Jesus released captives from the very hand of the devil
It was the greatest of any such operation that ever happened
Jesus crushed the head of that serpent on that day, as it was told, in the Garden of Eden. It took some time, but it was done
What was lost in one garden was regained in another!
It was a real fight-emotionally, spiritually and physically, for Jesus
It was hard. All the powers of hell came loose. But Jesus overcame all of that
To be a true disciple of Christ is a fight. To be a casual believer, may be the easiest job on earth. To stay away from sin is the tough part
Most people in church today have their spiritual eyes closed or not open enough
When our spiritual eyes open, we will be able to see God and His word as we should; we will see mysteries from the word; we will understand the need of the person sitting next. We will discern them and their problems
People whose eyes are opened, are the ones whom God uses mightily
Elisha once prayed that the eyes of his servant Gehasi be opened
Jesus was concerned about Peter many a time; his eyes were not opened as it should have been. The disciples were sleeping in Gethsemane because they had no clue about the seriousness of what was going to happen
Only people whose eyes are closed, can “sleep” these days. Those, whose eyes are opened, will watch and pray!
Once our eyes are opened, we can see Jesus as He is
We will see the hope to which Jesus has called, the greatness of His inheritance in us and the greatness of His power that is available for us
We will become extra-ordinary people, once our eyes are opened
We will no longer be fighting about the silly things here
Once the power is in us, we will be simply busy ministering to many
May God open our eyes and our heart; He will open our hands as well

Prayer: Lord Jesus, my spiritual eyes are closed. Please open my eyes so that I may see things as I should. Amen

for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
