Today: Wake up and cry!
Passage: Ephesians 5
“Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” 15 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.(Eph 5, NIV 84)-emph. added
Sleeper, careless, foolish…
Those words represent many of us who don’t care what happens to others, or see the pain or needs of others
Yesterday, we were reading a certain scripture in our family prayer, which was kind of shocking; sometimes, the word of God is little too sharp!
12 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” (Luke 14, NIV 84)
Usually we avoid verses like this one above, because we know that is about us!
When we read it, we might say “Jesus Christ!” for real
Yes! Jesus is like that-very different from us
Spirituality is not just about what we do within those four walls of the Church, on Sunday; it’s about what we do and how we live, Monday through Saturday..
It’s about what we do when no one is around
Many of us are more into face book, than into faith book, the word of God
-because we are more about saving our faces, than faith
We want to “look good” than being good inside
Once Jesus told a rich young man the secret of getting into heaven-to go sell all he had and give it to the poor. This man couldn’t take it. He was about “looking good” than being good-very much a friend and a brother to most of us
Being a true Christian is more than being politically correct; be politely correct!
God is smarter-truly smarter than the smartest among us!
We see how the smartness of man can also bring the biggest threat to man, if we look around globally
Now, people have started “worrying” about things back home
“What will we do, if something like that happens here?” is the question now
Stand in long line for a glass of hot water or a little food…!
It is time to get on our knees and cry to God, that He may save us
Recently, I just did that; just cried as much as I could, to God
Earlier you cry, the better. Cry to God; don’t waste your tears!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to have the same attitude you have, and to share the love and compassion you showed to me so that I will be a stream of your love, that being a ‘dead sea’. Thank you Jesus, for everything. Amen
