Living the Love out!

Welcome!19

Passage:   Psalm 41

Today: Living the Love out!

1 Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the Lord delivers him in times of trouble. 2 The Lord will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes. 3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness..  (Psalm 41, NIV 84)

I remember reading some article on homelessness and the homeless people; many become homeless due to broken families, loss of job, mental illness etc

Even many living in the shelters for the homeless feel “homeless” because a home is way more than just a roof over one’s head; the feeling of loneliness can “kill”, slowly!

One day, I was speaking to few people who  were all just thanking God for what they have; I did not even bring the subject up, but they just brought it up, even as they were not my church friends or anyone like that. We were talking general stuff and immediately they brought this up like “thank God for a roof over my head, a job, a family, church, etc”

I thank God for such people, who say, “I can’t complain”

There are many ways in which we can be of some help to somebody; that will also remove our loneliness, as we provide some encouragement to a lonely person

Many whom we think are doing OK, are not OK. They will appreciate some  good tine we share with them. They are probably looking for someone who can give them some encouragement, some kind, nice words

Charity is good, but one of the things most observed with charity is that the very people who give, does not (want to) know the subject of their charity; in other words, they will just give, but don’t want to go and meet those people or to connect with them. What people need more than money is love, relationships. While one has to be also careful about relationships-not to fall into the trap of sin, that cannot be used as an excuse for not doing what God wants us to do, within the framework and principle of God’s word.

Proverbs 11 , we can see the following:

2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. 4 Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. (Pro 11, NIV 84)

God, as well as people out there, are looking for someone who will show some love, some grace. It is good to give money, but there could be other “good”s people need

It is time to find out something good we can do as individuals, family or as a church, like visiting a nursing home or a homeless shelter once in a while at least

But it all starts with you and me becoming more human, by becoming more divine

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: 5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. 13 Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and Amen.  (Psalm 41)

It is one thing to “throw” some of our “blessings” to God, to the needy, or to our own family; yet it is quite another, to love them from our heart, which is the most important of all!
