Wake up to pray, not to sleep again!

Welcome!

Passage:  Jeremiah 1(NIV 84)

Today: Wake up to pray, not to sleep again!

7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”  (Jer 1, NIV 84) emphasis added

In the Old Testament, we see that Prophets and kings did their separate roles

The prophets of God did what God asked them to do; the kings did it their way;

some did good, while others did bad

Prophets adviced and even warned the kings, but they did not cross the lines

We hear and talk about the Church and state; as long as the church keeps looking at God and does its duty right, the nation will enjoy the benefits

The authority and power God has given the church is above all other authority;  there is nothing as powerful as prayer and the words of a firm believer in God

The church is part of God’s kingdom. The world’s system, its powers and principalities,  is opposite to it: two different kingdoms; two startegies!

No earthly kingdom can do what the kingdom of God can do; there will be an ongoing conflict between the two

19 They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. (Jer 1, NIV 84)

No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord. (Is 54: 17, NIV 84)

18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[c] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[d] will not overcome it. (Mat 16, NIV 84)

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Eph 6, NIV 84)

Regardless of what the world does, the true church should remain as the light and the salt of the earth, never compromising its quality

If the church in America sleeps three and a half years and wake up just six months prior to election, that won’t be enough; then, preachers stop preaching against cults, until the election is over; but cults are not seasonal!

When certain bills were passed, church woke up briefly, but went back to sleep again, pulling up blankets. Now, many are asking, which is the lesser of the two ..?

We are responsible for this mess. I didn’t pray; you didn’t pray enough for the nation. Prayer works, as long as we pray!

In the Bible, we see several instances in the Old Testament, where the king called the prophet to deal with specific situations; those prophets always looked unto God, not the king. Today, the opposite is happening. “Prophets” are looking to the powers of the world, adjusting their preaching accordingly!

God will wake up the true church in America

Have a blessed day; you still got time to pray for America!

BG

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for waking me up a little bit; I know you will wake me up more in the days to come. You are strong and in charge of the situation, but the church has become weak. Strengthen your church O God! Amen

If we don’t pay taxes, govt. will get us; if we don’t pray, God will get us!
