Stop pressing; start touching!

Welcome!

Passage:  Luke 8: 43-48 (NIV 84)

Today: Stop pressing; start touching!

45 Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.”  (Luke 8, NIV 84)-emphasis added

When there were many people pressing against Jesus, a woman who just “touched” Jesus got healed instantaneously, of an ongoing issue which was bothering her for tweleve long years!

God does not work in a way that always “makes senses” to people!

Human reasoning changes; It is based more on feelings, than fact.

Yesterday, there was this second “presidential debate” between the two candidates contesting for US presidency. I am sure, the mentality of many people change after each debate. People make judgements based on their feelings and understanding, whereas the “fact” could be different!

This woman had a true understanding of Jesus, than many of the people who were pressing on to Him. Even today, that is the case

Many people sitting in the  church/pew as listeners, have more understanding of God than some of those who preach from the pulpit. I am not kidding!

We hear a lot of preaching about “getting rich”, staying rich etc. Let me ask you this question: How much emphasis did Jesus/apostles  gave, for such topics, in all their preaching?

If your answer is “not much”, then what about these preachers who preach most of their messages about “getting rich materially” and stuff like that?

If you look at the life of some of those who atre filthy rich, they are the ones who “suffer” the most! What good is it to have all the money and no peace?

So, should we strive for more money or more peace? The choice is yours!

God knows we need money and He is willing to provide that, if we put God in the right place, in our lives. When a nation does things right, they will be blessed

I remember reading an article on a secular web site about the adverse effect on US economy, because of failing marriages

There is a direct link between strong families and the strong nations!

Many evangelists and preachers were saying this, but the secular world was not paying much attention. Now, the secular world is “preaching”; we need to listen!

So, God was not making a mistake by solemnizing the first wedding!

Coming back to our topic: it is time to touch Jesus. People look at us as someone who is always around Jesus, pressing on to Him; we know the real truth, how close we are, to Him. The “best rating” of people, for all that we do with/for God, won’t help us a bit; God has to evaluate/rate us!

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I have often been “pressing” you with my “shopping list”, but never realy getting “personal” with you, loving you from the depth of my heart. I have been very selfish in my attitude and prayer. Help me change for good; Amen

If our prayers are meant to change God, it is time to stop praying!
