God over nations and kingdoms!

Welcome!

Passage: 2 Kings 2: 15-22 (NIV 84) Isaiah 62 (NIV 84)

Today: God over nations and kingdoms!

7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord. 9 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”  (Jer 1, NIV 84) emphasis added

The word of God is powerful!

If a portion of His word is so powerful, what about more of it?

The reason why we become powerless many a time, is because we don’t eat the energy-food of His word! We may be after energy-drinks of this world, but many of them do bad than good!

God appointed Jeremiah over nations and kings!

When a national election is near, we always see churches and pastors trying to remind people who to vote for and who not to vote for

There will also be much prayer, for both candidates

Ultimately, one will win. The other side will be like “my…..!”

I have seen one thing, back in India and here in the US;

If God’s people pray, God takes care of things in the nation, regardless of who wins. The ultimate control is in God’s hands. Many rules and laws are passed against God’s will because the church has been sleeping, when it should have been watching and praying. If God’s people pray, God will change things accordingly

Now, if the republican candidate wins, many people will have a sigh of relief

If the democratic candidate wins, many will have a sigh of relief as well. I was wondering, what will give God a sigh of relief?

I think God is more concerned that the church has always been “sleeping” about the things of God, while it is “sleepless” about the presidential election so that “God’s candidate” will win: one side interceeding for Pres. Obama and the other side interceeding for Gov. Romney!

But let me tell you one thing. Sometimes, things are better when the unexpected party wins,  because people pray more after the election. When the party we expect wins, we stop praying, and worse things happen!

God told Jeremiah to go to everyone God sends him to and to speak every word that God gave him to speak. Is God telling you something?

It is time to open our eyes and look.

Have a blessed day!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for the authority you have given me.  I have failed to thank you and use the authority you gave me, worrying about useless and unprofitable things. Help me to focus on my part and do it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When the church in America is talking about Washington, many outside the church are talking about God,  end of the world etc. Shouldn’t it be the other way?
