Being different, we can make a difference

Welcome!

Today: Being different, we can make a difference

Passage: Eph 4

17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. (Eph 4, NIV)-emphasis added

Many a time, we are thankless for many things God does for us

It is because God keeps us safe that we make it every day of our lives

Many a time, I have seen people who don’t even believe in God, having a thankful attitude

Apostle Paul, in the verses above, says: “we must no longer live as gentiles do”

It is a very powerful statement. In fact the whole epistles have the same message

It is about the transformation that Christ brought in us

1 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (Rom 6, NIV)

If we still behave like those who don’t have this hope and transformation, then what’s the point of calling ourselves God’s children/Church/disciples of Christ?

We need to recognize/reckon ourselves as different and live accordingly

It is not easy to be different. But men and women of God lived it before us

Joseph, David, Daniel all are all good examples from the Old Testament

They held on to their vision/view of God; they stood the tests

If we want to flow with the current, we will end up where the “current” ends

If we dare to be different, we will bring hope and deliverance to many

There will be much pressure to compromise with sin and satan. Most people yield to the pressures and pleasures of sin. There are only a few that resist that

The other day, someone was mentioning about the Ohm’s law which states that the current (I=V/R) where “V” is the potential difference and “R” the resistance

The life, the power of God will flow into us as we acknowledge the greatness of God and humble ourselves, and as we do not resist the love of God

When we recognize God as great, Holy and worthy of worship, we will have the nature of God come into us and take us over

As God’s people, we can make a world of difference in a world that is different

God bless you

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to be more and more like you as the world becomes more and more unlike you, day after day. I know it is difficult, but then you are there to help. Help me make a difference in this world. Amen
