Today: When “FREE SCOUP” gets you!
Passage: Exodus 11, 12
9What the LORD had earlier said to Moses came true. He had said, “The king of Egypt won’t listen. Then I will perform even more miracles.” Ex 11:9 cev
39They left Egypt in such a hurry that they did not have time to prepare any food except the bread dough made without yeast. So they baked it and made thin bread. Ex 12:39 cev
Israelites were crying to God because of their suffering
But when their prayer was answered, they were not ready!
It was a big “mess”, because it was in the middle of the night that Pharaoh got up and said, “Now leave”!
All that rebellion and disobedience of Pharaoh until that moment only made God reveal himself to Pharaoh and the people, through those miracles
So, thank God for some of those troubles in your life
Pharaoh wanted Israelites to stay “under” him and work like slaves, while he and his people would simply enjoy it
Again, as Israelites left Egypt, they did not have time to make their tasty bread; they had to hurry. I am sure, many were complaining, “that’s not fair”!
But then, God was pleased with that bread without yeast!
Sometimes, we don’t like the things God likes
Listen: Devil will tell you that God only gives you “bad stuff”, and he (devil) will come to you with some of his stuff that “looks good”
(When) we are on a pilgrimage, things are different from going on a cruise
There is a difference between that which is really good and that which “looks good”
Last year, we went on a pilgrimage to East Africa. It wasn’t all that “cool”, but it was a great experience in life, and with the Lord
This morning, I just noticed “FREE SCOUP INSIDE” printed on a big can of ice-tea powder
You pay 5 or 6 dollars for that, and that plastic scoop is worth a few pennies!
And they are making all the noise about that!
But then, don’t we also make BIG noise about some silly little things we do (for the Lord)? When God looks at our boasting, He feels the same way I think
Did you fall into something, because of some “FREE” something?
Those may be “free” now, but you may have to pay big later!
On the other hand, if you have been going through all those “bad times” and troubles, don’t worry; come back to God, and He can make it all for good!
See what Joseph said to his brothers, in the end:
19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Gen 50:20, NIV 84)
God bless you. Have a blessed weekend

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to discern between that which is really good and that which just “looks good”. I have been wronged by the way things look on the outside. Thank you Lord, for letting me go through some of those “bad times”, because those are the things that made me good. Thank you. Amen
God is good…all the time…
