Today: Trust in the Lord alone!
Passage: 2 Cor 1, Rom 8:28
8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our[a] behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2Cor 1: 8-11, NIV 84)-emphasis added
Paul was sharing about some of the hardships he and others had to go through, in ministry
He concludes saying that it all happened for good
That is the right mentality for a child of God
When someone else say a cup is half empty, you say it is half full!
When they say the door is half closed, you say, it is half open!
When they say there is only a 10% chance, you say, there is a 10% chance!
It all depends on how you see things
When you complain and grumble about the job you have, there are thousands out there who are willing to do the same job with half the pay/benefits!
So, let us not blow up our situations and make it too big
That “Goliath” may look too big, but only until you are able to see God
In front of God, your “Goliath”, your problems, are nothing!
What is too difficult for your child in school may be too easy for you
Bring to God that which is difficult; let Him work on it
When we depend on God, we don’t say, “the outcome should be like this”
It is God who decides
When Moses told the people that God will do a mighty thing for them, he did not know exactly what God was going to do. All he knew was that God will take care of it. That is what it means, “trusting in God with all your heart” (Ex 14:13, 14, Prov 3:5,6)
Think what God has done for us in the past; will He not do it today and tomorrow?
10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our[a] behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2Cor 1: 8-11, NIV 84)
May God bless your day

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for trusting in myself too much and not really depending on you. I know that you are concerned with all that I am concerned with. Thank you for your promise that you will take care of it. Amen
