Today: Time to Love God

Passage: Exodus 33

7 Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.” Anyone inquiring of the LORD would go to the tent of meeting outside the camp.

11 The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.   (Ex 33:7, 11, NIV 84)-emphasis added

Even as Moses left, Joshua remained in the tent (of meeting)

The tent of meeting was “outside the camp”, outside the disturbances

We need to be away from the disturbances, and spent time with God

We can pray to God any time anywhere, but we need to have specific times set apart for God; late in the night, or early morning…

We are living at a time when we cannot survive without prayer

ACTS-Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication can be a good order for prayer

Recently, I was talking to a family that just came back from India after a visit

“Everybody have their prayers- even through loud speaker, except Christians; in the morning and evening we hear their prayers, but those family prayers we used to have in the Christian homes are no longer there!”

Instead, we have our adults “tied” to their TV serials and the “yet to be adults”, to their computers/gadgets

We replaced our personal and family prayers with lot of other junk

Now, when the Middle East have issues and prices going up, there may be “some” change, but not too much yet!

What do we want God to do, so that we will start praying?

If we stay in God’s presence like Jacob stayed at Jabok and like how the 120 who stayed in Jerusalem until Pentecost, we will see great results!

God chose Joshua because he had time for God, regardless of whatever was going on! Joshua was young; he was in love-with God

Martha, sister of Mary and a sister to most of us, once made a complaint:

40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” (Luke 10:40, NIV 84)-emphasis added

Many a time we ask, “Lord, don’t you care?”

Jesus would say, “I do, but you don’t”

He cares about us; but we don’t care about what is important to Jesus!

We are worried about too many things; prayer gets cancelled from our agenda!

If we don’t pray, we will pay!

God bless us and help us

BG

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to spend more time with you, even when I get busy with things. You deserve my time, Lord. Thank you for all your blessings. Amen
