Today: Signed-up with God?

Passage: Gen 18

16 When the men got up to leave, they looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham walked along with them to see them on their way. 17 Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do? (Gen 18: 16-17, NIV 84)

‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ (Jer 33:3, NIV 84)

God didn’t want to hide from Abraham what he was about to do to Sodom and Gomorrah

God is a God of relationship. He shares His plans with His dear ones

Today, many of God’s children have forgotten about the coming judgment and are living in the material world, worrying about “What shall I make, and how?”

We are concerned about investments, real estate, shares,……..

In the days of Noah, people had a similar attitude. They were not serious about what God was going to do

37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. (Mat 24: 37-39, NIV 84)

If we are living in the “dream world” like most others, it is time to come back

Don’t get too much involved in stuff that can make you too busy

Faith first, family second and work/finance third is a good order for priorities

These days, we stay connected with people more than ever before, with the mobile phones and stuff like that

People are after “apps” and stuff like that

Do you have the “apps” for connecting with God?

Many Colleges/universities and even the cities now have an Emergency text alert system whereby they will inform students who are ‘signed up’, in case of an emergency

Are you signed-up with God?

At least have an appetite/desire to connect with Him?

Psalmist says he was waiting all night, for the morning to come so that he can meditate the word. Those days, they had no electricity like we have

6 My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning. (Ps 130: 6, NIV 84)

As we live our lives as usual, it is important to get closer to the Lord each day, because His coming is at hand and he has so much to inform us

Stay connected

God bless

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for accepting me as your friend. Help me tobstay connected, and to hear from you. Amen
