Today: He didn’t just give you a flower

Passage: Mark 10

48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”  49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. 51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”  52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. (Mk 10: 48-52, NIV 84-EMPHASIS ADDED)

The healing of Blind Bartimaeus teaches us a lot of things

See how the opinion of the crowd changed in a moment?

The same people, who “blocked” BB from calling on Jesus, are now encouraging him to go to Jesus! Jesus said “call him”. That was it!

One word or command from Jesus turns things around!

We see people doing many things to get approval from people

When people come to know that Jesus is with you and for you, everyone will accept; instead, if we walk around with a bucket full of soap to (brain) wash others or use other methods, it will only be a waste of time, effort and money

In the kingdom of God, things work differently

Once Isaac was living in Gerar, where he dug several wells

Every time, the philistines came and covered the wells he dug. But, as they finally found out that God was with Isaac, they stopped doing it

28 They answered, “We saw clearly that the LORD was with you; so we said, ‘There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’—between us and you. Let us make a treaty with you 29 that you will do us no harm, just as we did not molest you but always treated you well and sent you away in peace. And now you are blessed by the LORD.” (Gen 26: 28-29, NIV 84)

Do you feel people are against you anywhere?

Make sure God is with you and for you; that’s all you need

On the day of Pentecost, God proved that God was with Peter

When a work/activity of God manifests through us, people will acknowledge

We need to spend more time with God

It is more important that God knows us, than people knowing us

Jesus knew Blind Bartimaeus. That made all the difference

You may have an emotional/spiritual or a physical problem, like BB

People around you may be ignoring you. But that is when you find out that Jesus truly loves you cares for you

Someone jokingly said: ”you don’t know if some people pick up flowers from a cemetery and offer it as a valentines’ day gift” (I don’t think anyone will do that).

People do many things as an obligation. But true love is found in Jesus

He didn’t just give you a flower; he gave His own life!

That’s how much He loves you!

God bless you

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your love for me. It makes a big difference in my life to know that you know me and you really love me. Thanks again. Amen
