Today: God-seekers!

Passage: Exodus 3, Jer 18

3 So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”  4 When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” (Ex 3:3-4, NIV 84)-emphasis added

2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings. (Prov 25:2 NIV 84) –emphasis added

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. (Mat 7:7-8, NIV 84)-emphasis added

God likes to hide things; you may not agree

The word of God is like an ocean; if you can dig into it, you will get the precious gems and pearls in it

Some of you are familiar with Tommy Tenney books; “God chasers” and “God catchers” are very popular. They are different

God is pleased to visit those who are after Him, looking for Him

2 God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God. (Ps 53: 2, NIV 84)-emphasis added

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. (Jer 29:11-13, NIV 84)-emphasis added

When he saw the burning bush, Moses ran to it. He was curious

When he came near, the bush started speaking

(It was not the bush, but God was speaking)

You never know how, when and where God would speak to you

God once told prophet Jeremiah to go to the potters’ house, so that God could speak to him (Jeremiah 18)

God told Elijah to come out of the cave, so that God could have a visitation with him (1 Kings 19)

We may be looking for God in certain places like Church only

We miss God many times because God was waiting for us in the most “unexpected” places

If we have a heart seeking God, we won’t miss Him

Do you seek God in the pages of His word? Simply reading it, you might not see God. Many people read the word for many different reasons

Don’t be amazed by those who say, “God spoke to me”

Next time, when somebody says that, you say “God spoke to me too”

God bless your day, as you get ready for God

BG

Prayer: Lord, I am sorry for missing you. I was looking for you in the wrong places. Help me to see you in the pages of your word, as well as in “strange places”-may be in my work/school or elsewhere. Thank you. Amen
