Today: Appointed!
Passage: Ezekiel 33
1 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head. (Ezekiel 33:1-4, NIV 84)-emphasis added
7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for[a] his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself. (Ezekiel 33:7-9, NIV 84)-emphasis added
God is talking to Ezekiel quoting the example of a watchman appointed by the people (1-4). Then God says, God has appointed Ezekiel as a watchman for Israel (7-9)
If you are a child of God, He has appointed you as a watchperson somewhere, regardless of whether you are a male or a female. You need to recognize that
The employers of this world expect a certain standard and performance from the employees; God has his own expectations from those He has appointed
When those appointed by God fail to do what God wants, God will hold them (us) accountable
We live in a very critical time. Man has failed to take control of things which he thought he has control over. When the snow continued for a few days here in the US, many are already in panic. Our latest gadgets won’t help!
This weather has its short-term as well as long-term effects on the economy
Prices of vegetables/groceries are already up
Many lives as well as families/ churches are already shaking
The other day, I was speaking to a pastor from the western part of US
That church with 8 staff had to cut down to 4, because income went down
Whether you are a lay person or a minister, these are days to put our complete trust in God, and not in our own skills and tactics
As a father, I am responsible for my family, as the prophet and priest of the house. Christ is my head. I need to go to Him with anything that is hard for me
I need to stand in the gap in prayer and intercession, for my family
Ministers of God must acknowledge that Christ is their head
They need to follow the directions from the head, not to fail
Doing things the way we feel right or as “somebody” advised us, may not take us to the right end. We need to do what God wants us to do
God bless your weekend

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to understand where you have put me, and follow the directions from you. I know, I will never fail if I do that. Thank you for choosing me. Amen.
