Today: Moving right?

Passage: Galatians 1

14 I was advancing in Judaism beyond many Jews of my own age and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. 15 But when God, who set me apart from birth[a] and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me so that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not consult any man, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was, but I went immediately into Arabia and later returned to Damascus. (Gal 1:14-17, NIV’84)

Paul speaks about:

  1. Who he was
  2. What God did
  3. Paul’s response to God’s action in his life

Paul was very zealous in Judaism. But when Christ met him, he underwent total transformation. The change was complete

He knew God called him for a reason, and not just for a season

God had a plan for him even before he was born!

Even though not specifically mentioned in the Bible, I believe someone was praying for Paul and his conversion!

Have you given-up on somebody? Better not!

Keep speaking the word and pray continuously. It may not seem to be working at this time, but it will never be wasted

10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.(Is 55:10-11, NIV 84)

The word of God that you send through email or in any other form will do its work, because it is God’s word

God has set you apart for a specific purpose
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.(Ps 139-NIV)When we are about to do something, better ask the Lord, because he knows where it will end. He does!

When God called Paul, he just came out like Abraham, and started his new Journey with Christ, by faith

His traditions were great, but couldn’t do any good to him. Peter also mentions about it in his letter

18You must know (recognize) that you were redeemed (ransomed) from the useless (fruitless) way of living inherited by tradition from [your] forefathers, not with corruptible things [such as] silver and gold, 19But [you were purchased] with the precious blood of Christ (the Messiah), like that of a [sacrificial] lamb without blemish or spot.(1 Peter 1:18-19, Amp. Bible)

There are many, who started their walk with Christ in great excitement, but not going/growing in the right direction

Paul asks:

3 Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? (Gal 3:3, NKJV)

If you look at the church, you will see three types of people:

  1. People who advance from the fleshly to the spiritual
  2. People who go from the spiritual to the fleshly
  3. People who never moved. They stand in the same place they started.

May God help you to check the direction in which you have been moving and to re-position yourself today

BG

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thought I was moving in the right direction, but I was………Help me to move towards you as each day passes. Amen
