Today: Great is His faithfulness
Passage: Psalm 40
5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. (Ps 40:5, NIV 84)
David was a man of psalms, a man of songs
He was a musician and a singer; he composed many songs which became a blessing to many people
Psalm 40 is a psalm remembering the great and good things God had done in David’s life;
Have we ever tried to put down/write the good things God has done for us?
Music originated in heaven; but today, satan is using it very widely as a tool in various ways
When God fired Lucifer from heaven, he started his own “company”, in enmity with God; so he decided to use his musical talent in a big way
See one of his (inspired) songs:
9 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake them.
I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them.
I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’ (Ex 15: 9 NIV 84)
This was a song of Pharaoh, before his destruction in the red sea
After crossing the red sea, Moses and Miriam sang songs like this:
1 Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD:
“I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted.
The horse and its rider he has hurled into the sea.
2 The LORD is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Ex 15:1-2, NIV 84)
The song of Moses was one of praising God
While the enemy plotted our destruction so many times, it was the Lord who wonderfully and miraculously delivered us from the enemy’s hands
What kind songs are we singing/listening to?
If we are always worried about so many different things/people, we cannot sing praises to God
But if we are all focused on God, we can definitely sing songs of praise to God
May God bless us; let our very life become a song, a story for Him
Let our song and our story be: “Praising my savior all the daylong”

Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
