Today: When “impossible” becomes Him-possible!
Passage: Luke 1
37 For with God nothing will be impossible.(Luke 1:37, NKJV)
The verse above is part of the angel’s conversation to Mary, announcing the birth of Jesus that was going to happen
Mary could not just take it, because she was never expecting something like that
There was excitement as well as frustration- excitement because God selected her for such a unique privilege; frustration because she was a virgin and that she was going to have a baby!
Mary kept herself clean and she was chosen for a noble purpose
God chose her to be a vessel, a channel for revealing himself to the world
When you are chosen for that great and noble task of having Jesus in you and revealing Him to the outside, life is not always that easy
There are challenges, risks and pains
But we are getting a great privilege that the angels never had/have, and that which they would be more than excited to have, if they ever could
If Mary was physically carrying Jesus in her womb, you and I have the privilege of having the same Jesus in us and with us, in our spirit
God is Spirit (John 4:24)
Do we consider it as a great privilege that we can have Jesus in us, without a fraction of the shame and the pains that Mary was having?
The community started looking at Mary (and Joseph) in a different way, as they both yielded to God’s will and did not even bother to make much
justifications about what was going on
God spoke to them personally and not in public
If the angel appeared in the temple and announced this news publicly, it would have saved Joseph and Mary much trouble
But God did not! Even when Jesus was resurrected from death, He didn’t go and show himself to the rulers or the people who crucified him
The greatest miracle in our life is that God chose you and me, to have Jesus “born” in us; we become a NEW creation, as Jesus comes into us
Not because of anybody’s merit or cleanliness
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
(Rom 5:8-9, NKJV)
19 My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you,(Gal 4:19, NIV)
Paul was taking the birth pains for Christ to be “formed” in the lives of the people of Galatia! That (formation of Christ in us) is yet another thing that must happen, after Christ is born in us! (We will talk about that another day)
Life was totally different for Mary, from the moment she got the seed of God in her
We love to say, “Nothing is impossible with God”, when we face challenges and difficulties
But the most ideal place to use that phrase is when we talk about our salvation
Without God, it was never going to happen!
Thank God for choosing me!
Have a blessed weekend

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for choosing me for your habitation. Did I let you to be “formed” in me to your full stature? I don’t think so. Please help me to let you “grow” in me so that others will see you in and through me. Amen
