Today: The “noisy” Jesus!

Passage: Gen 1

3 And God said, “Let there be lTht,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.(Gen 1:3-5, NIV)

There is so much of lighting going on around us these days, because of Christmas

But God is the true light

Some of the decorations have some music attached to it and some are even noisy

So, people say, “we don’t like that noisy Jesus”

There is so much “noise” going on, in the name of Jesus

Once Christmas is over, the noise still continues in some other form

Churches, organizations and denominations continue making their noises-

It’s all about what they have done, what they are doing and about what they are planning to do in the future-

But what is really being done may be much less that what you hear!

Whenever Jesus did a miracle, he told them not to publish it (in many cases)

But when Jesus brought transformation to people – like the Samaritan woman (John 4) and Mary Magdalene, He let them publish it, one way or other

We do the opposite; we make a “big deal” of some “miracle” that happened, and keep quite about salvation and transformations in people

Why is it that “we” do the opposite of what Jesus was doing?

I don’t know

Here in America, we have to think thrice before saying “Merry Christmas”

It might “hurt you”, if you don’t know who you are saying “Merry Christmas” to

Anyway, if you take “Christ” out of Christ-mas, it is a “mess”

What in the world did Jesus come for?

He came to destroy the works of the devil and to save the sinners (1 John 3:8)

He came to die, so that we might live

All the decoration we see out there tells exactly how we treat Christ

With all that “decoration” out there, are we saying, “Jesus, please see my “decorations” and go; don’t come inside please”?

But Jesus is not about our “decorations”; He is all about what is going on inside

The Samaritan woman in John 4 was probably very “decorated” because of her lifestyle; but Jesus saw a grieving, broken heart on the inside

Many people put a “mask of smile” on the outside, while they are “broken” inside!

The gospel of Jesus Christ is the real “good news” you can get

Whet is in demand is “bad news”, all the time

Without “bad news”, the media will find it hard to survive

People buy so many more copies of the news paper, when they have some “bad news” in it; so, the publishers (obviously) like bad news than good

That is why they don’t give any importance to “good news”

Jesus says:

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)

God bless your day, as you find real peace and joy, in Jesus

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for all that you have done for me. I know it is my turn, to make you and your works known. Help me do that not only during this time of the year, but throughout the year. Amen
