Today: Powerful, wonderful and beautiful!
Passage: 1 Cor 1: 18 NIV
18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (emphasis added)
The message of the cross is foolishness to many, but it is POWER, to some
There are many in the Church today, who don’t want to preach/ hear someone preaching the crucified Christ
25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.(Rom 4:25, NIV)
Thank God for the cross – Paul preached Christ crucified, because he knew the POWER of the cross
Preaching God’s word is a privilege that the angels are longing for and looking into!
God’s word is not the word about God; it is the word of God – it is from God
The word of God is not like we speak ten thousand words a day
Each word of God is spoken carefully, and is full of power
God’s words are alive; they accomplish a task-always
In other words, God’s words are His deeds as well; you cannot separate them
When God said, things came into existence
Whenever a word goes out from God’s mouth, it does something creative
That is why you and I must be careful about everything we speak, do or engage in
Many people who call themselves “Children of God” engage in activities that does not please God
The reason is that the word of God has not got into them properly
11 I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.(Ps 119:11, NIV)
The word of God that brought us into a saving relationship with Christ, is our food as well as what sustains us; it is our provision and protection
The word of God cleanses us; it prunes us
The word of God heals us like no other; it fills our hearts with peace and joy
It is worth taking some time off from our time on the internet and apply that time for the word
Many people who do evil, do so because they obey somebody’s word
But if we obey the word of God, we will be empowered to do exploits for God-
To turn evil people into good!
People in some villages of India and Africa, who do not even know how to read or write, believe the word of God they hear, and it works (miracles) for them
The other day, I was sharing this with somebody:
May be you know only three codes on the guitar
Use it to sing songs; that is better than someone who knows much more and never uses it!
Are you waiting to be “qualified” so that you can use your gifts and talents for God? You may wait for ever!
The Samaritan woman in John 4, became an instant witness for Christ, soon after she was transformed
How many people have you shared the gospel with, in the ____years of your Christian life?
Let’s say, “shame on me”, if we have been professing as active Christians, and not sharing the “power of God” with anyone
16 For when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, since I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! (1 Cor 9:16, NIV-emphasis added)
It is time to share – the good word of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ
The word of God is Powerful, wonderful and beautiful

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for ignoring you, by ignoring the word. I have rarely taken time to be with you, all these days. Help me to love spending time with you (word) and sharing the same with others. Amen
