Today: Faith knows no fear, nor darkness

Passage: Heb 11

23 By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. (Heb 11;23, NIV)

Moses was born in a very critical time and place

Jesus also faced a threat soon after he came into the earth as a baby

According to the King’s edict, Moses had to be immediately thrown into the river; Herod tried to kill Jesus by killing all the babes of that time

But faith took over fear; Moses’ parents did not get the kind of fear they should have got. God gave them the kind of faith that overcame fear

Moses grew up in the Palace of the same pharaoh that wanted to kill Him

Born of God, we also are not born into a favorable world

But God is protecting us and providing for us

God has kept us to destroy the works of the devil

1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn (Isaiah 60: 1-3, NIV)

God says to Isaiah that even as darkness covers the earth, the light of God shall shine upon Isaiah

The prophet thinks differently than others

He/she sees things as God sees; he/she will proclaim what is really happening and what is going to happen, while the rest of the people will be living in a utopia, “everything is O.K and will be O.K”

The fact of the presence and the promises of God keeps us strong

It is time for many of us who are sleeping spiritually, to get up and shine for Jesus

He is at the door; we need to look at things through the eyes of faith

7 For we live by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor 5:7, NIV)

Born of God, we live by faith

Faith is the very ground on which we stand, once we are born of God

Faith is real; it is the result of knowing and understanding God and getting into a personal, one-on-one relationship with God

Bats can see in the dark; they use a technique called echolocation

Echolocating animals emit calls out to the environment and listen to the echoes of those calls that return from various objects in the environment. They use these echoes to locate, range, and identify the objects. Echolocation is used for navigation and for foraging (or hunting) in various environments.(wikipedia)

These animals use some kind of waves from themselves and they locate the paths based on the responses

When we live by faith, we are not depending on what our circumstances tell us; rather, we use faith to see what God has to say, which is what is real

May God help us to get up and shine for Him, and use the flashlight of faith to make our way through, in this dark world

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for keeping us safe and sound throughout the year. Help me to shine for you more and more, in the days to come; teach me to live by faith instead of living by sight and not to mix the two. Amen
