Today: Time to sleep less and pray more!
Passage: Heb 5:7 NIV
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
Jesus himself had to pray so hard- not like you and I pray!
He offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears!
Jesus was God incarnate in the human body. He had to pray all the times
Even when Jesus was not on his knees praying, He was communicating with the father
-Because He never did one thing outside the will of the father
Jesus and the father and Holy Spirit are one, not three different Gods
But physically separated from the father and Holy Spirit, prayer was the breath of Jesus, while on earth
How long can someone survive without breath?
His food was doing the will of the father, no matter what it cost Him
Many Christians have no idea who Jesus really is
Even many Pastors and preachers have no idea about the true Jesus-
They reveal it through their life and preaching
Prayer is like a “luxury” for many- something they do once in a while
Prayer is more than an action; it is also an attitude
We can be praying to God in our heart, even as we are not praying with our mouth
If we don’t feel the need for prayer, we don’t feel the need for breathing, for our inner man. That means, our inner man is dead!
Many are chronically ill, spiritually. But our priorities are many other things
Jesus prayed in advance to face all that He was about to face in connection with His crucifixion
He knew that even his disciples- even the three closest-wouldn’t be there to really pray for Him
They did not understand the seriousness of the time; they were sleeping, just like us
But those who know the seriousness of the times and know what is going to happen cannot go sleeping!
It is time to sleep less and pray more!
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.(Eph 6:18, NIV)
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.(1 Peter 5:8, NIV)
1 Gather together, gather yourselves together, you shameful nation,
2 before the decree takes effect and that day passes like windblown chaff,
before the LORD’s fierce anger comes upon you,
before the day of the LORD’s wrath comes upon you.
3 Seek the LORD, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands.
Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the LORD’s anger.(Zeph 2:1-3, NIV)
Prayer is not an option for the true Christian believer
It will cost us too much, if we don’t pray
Jesus himself is our role model
Pray, praise, and read the word- more than ever before
Otherwise we cannot stand what is going to happen

Prayer: Lord Jesus, than you for showing me the model of prayer. I admit my weakness in prayer, praise and meditating on your word. Help me to dedicate more time for these; it is the breath, food and exercise for my inner man. Amen.
