Today: Our response to His glory

Passage: Exodus 40:33-35 NIV

33 Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work.  34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. (emphasis added in all )

1 When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. 2 The priests could not enter the temple of the LORD because the glory of the LORD filled it. 3 When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and the glory of the LORD above the temple, they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “He is good; his love endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 7:1-3, NIV)

1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2: 1-4, NIV)

When the glory of the Lord fills the house/temple, something else happens

Moses could not enter the temple

People knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground

People began to speak in other tongues

All these were humbling experiences

When God comes in His glory, man will surrender his/her glory

When Jacob had the “Jabok” experience, he started limping after that

Paul said: “It is no longer I, but Christ who lives in me”

20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Gal 2:20, NIV)

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.(Col 3: 1-3, NIV)

For Christ to live in us, our self must be crucified

This is not easy; it is about letting go some of the things we dearly hold on to

When the priests carrying the ark touched the waters of Jordan with their feet, Jordan gave way

When Peter stepped out of the boat, he could stand and even walk on water

Peter was not walking by sight; he was walking by faith in Jesus-looking at Jesus

In India, have seen some elderly ladies whom we call “Ammachy”, chasing the devil away

They tell the devil:”Devil, you have no business with me; get away from me and my family”

And these women made it; the devil just got away!

Though some of them speak more about the devil than about God,

These women were great women of faith

If they see a mountain in front of them, they will command that mountain to move away!

They were able to win many spiritual battles, on their knees!

Are we scared of that big mountain in front of us?

When we have God on our side, all we need is to hand it over to Him

Let His glory come down and fill our homes, our lives and our church

Our children need that touch, more than anything else; they need to see that happening; that will be a new beginning in their life, education, ….every area of their life

God bless

Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for not allowing you and your glory to take over. I surrender myself to you. I want to literally see your glory taking over myself, my family and my church. I want to see that glory coming upon my city and my land. Thank you Lord. Amen
