Today: More than just milk!

 Passage:  1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV

1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.(emphasis added) .

The word of God is milk to the new born child of God

Milk is the best food you can have-it is full of good things your body needs

The word of God is very powerful; consumed right, it can change your life totally- it will turn things upside down

The verses that you have displayed in your house will encourage you a lot, every time you see them

Just one verse can make a great an impact on our life

“All things are possible with God” is one of the phrases some banks allow, to print on your check leaf

The word of God is the food for the child of God. At the same time, it is not just food alone

The word came from God- it is the breath of God. God gave life to man by his breath

There is real life in God’s word; there is healing in it

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.(2 Tim 3:16, NIV-emphasis added)

The word of God has all the instruction for the teacher of the word

The Bible is the best Bible-school ever! Holy Spirit is the best teacher

The word of God is indispensable; we need it all the time

It is the product-manual God gave for the child of God

Dumping the word of God like we dump most of the product-manuals could mean death to our souls; word of God is also soul-food

BIBLE- Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth

We better know the Bible; each word of the Bible is alive

They speak; they speak life, not death

Just look at this:

11 Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we disown him, he will also disown us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. (2 Timothy 2: 11-13, NIV-emphasis added)

How can we disown God?

One of the ways we disown God is by disregarding the word of God

How much do we “own” the word of God? How much of the word do we get into our hearts daily?

Don’t we feel ashamed that we are not reading it when many people in the villages are craving for it- not knowing how to read it or not able to buy a copy of the Bible?

It will be a serious mistake if we neglect the word of God

The price will be too much; ignorance of the word can lead to destruction!

Remember: “If we disown God, He will disown us”; not that He may, but He will!

We need good things to happen

Read the word!

God bless your day

Prayer: Lord,

18 Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
19 I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
20 My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times. (Ps 119: 18-20, NIV)

Thank you for your word. Amen
