Today: Know God through His word
Passage: John 1: 11-14 NIV
11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God. 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. .
23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.(1 Peter 1:23, NIV)
The word of god is powerful to bring back that which is dead, to life
Only the word of God has the power to turn a sinner into a saint
The word has made us the children of God
The word of God is full of the grace and truth of God
We need God’s grace because of our sinful situation; we need the truth because of our ignorance
God gave the truth to us because of His grace, which we receive by the faith that God gave us (Eph 2: 
The devil has kept many people quiet to believe the lies of the devil
A good number of God’s children live like devil’s slaves
They don’t know the authority they have, as a child of God
The word of God is God; as we read the word, it should take flesh in our hearts
The word has power to transform us, into the image of God
The word cleanses us; it tells us to remove that which is not pleasing to God
The word is divine; we are earthly
When we meditate on His word, we are identifying with that which is heavenly
When Jesus came down to us, the word became flesh and lived among us; He wanted to take us to that which is divine, through the channel of the word
The word connects us with God
Jesus is with us today, as the word of God
As we read the word, Holy Spirit will speak to us through the pages of the Bible
Yesterday, I was listening to a preacher from North India
He was telling about a lady who was very sick for years, lying on a mat on the floor, dying each day
As her mother heard the word through the radio that Jesus can heal, she stretched out her hand to her daughter and prayed with her
Instantly that lady got healed
Today, they come to Church travelling more than 100 kilometers
That lady who was healed, is now an elected member of the local government
They just believed the word!
The word of God works for those who believe it; for others, it is foolishness!
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.(1 Cor 1:18) – NIV
What is the word of God, to you?
If you believe it, it will work for you; if not, it won’t!
