A good soldier

Welcome!

Today: A good soldier

 Passage:  2 Tim 2: 3-4 NIV

3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.

Apostle Paul connects “suffering” and a “good soldier”

A good soldier of Jesus Christ will also have to go through suffering of various kinds

It is very important to hold on to two things, as we do God’s will and work:

Our relationship with God, and a good conscience

I come across some people and see that their conscience has changed a lot

They were very sincere, and very personal, some time back

But in course of time, may be because of ministry and stuff, these people have changed a lot!

They are no longer in the same “world” as they were before

They are no longer talking to you, even as they are talking to you; they are in a different world

Sometimes you may be speaking to some people and they will shake their head as if they are agreeing with everything you are saying, and then you will see them doing exactly opposite of what you said

This is true especially with young ones

All that time, they were not really paying attention

They were saying “yes” to you but were not even considering what you said

I wonder how Jesus felt, when Peter, after being with Jesus for a good amount of time, said that he doesn’t even know Jesus!

If it was you or me in the place of Jesus, that was the end of the story

“I don’t know who you are, Peter”, is what we would have said

Many relationships brake apart for very silly reasons

We live in a world where satan is actively working, knowing his time is very limited

In a world that is unfair, there is someone who is always approachable and fair

His name is Jesus

He is the commander who has suffered more than anyone else in His team would suffer; he is the only high priest who could totally understand and help His people

Just like some nations are at war with each other, the kingdom of God is at war with the kingdom of this world and the kingdom of satan

What is happening in some countries of the world today-the hostility to Christians-will spread worldwide, as per the Bible

As Christians in Iraq and elsewhere persecuted and are forced to leave the land, we must get on our knees and pray

If we don’t do at least that much, it doesn’t make sense to call ourselves Christians

Be a good soldier of Jesus or do not be His soldier at all!

There are no bad soldiers in God’s list; only good ones

His soldiers do not take weapons of this world; they take the weapon of the word

Prayer and the word of God are the two most powerful weapons ever found out!

If you don’t have them, you need to get them right now

God bless your week-end

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for giving up your life for me. Help me to be totally surrendered and committed to you and to be one of your best. Help me to snatch many out there, from the hands of the enemy-to plunder hell and fill heaven. Amen.
