Today: Love of money
Passage: 1 Tim 6: 6-10 NIV
6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
If you don’t have time, just read the verses above. That’s enough
The Bible tells the truth; it tells us what is good and what is bad
Yet, many who believe and teach the Bible twist it as they need!
Money is not bad; “love of money” is bad
Today, many churches are after that which attracts people
When pleasing people becomes the # 1 priority, God is outside!
So, when you hear people preaching about How to become a millionaire using your faith in Christ and stuff like that, remember, that it comes from the god of this world, which is satan
Any time you get inhibited with the craving of making more money, be careful
There is nothing wrong in asking God to meet our daily needs
Jesus taught His disciples to pray for their daily bread
When many people use their faith connections or church connections to promote their business, much care and caution needs to be exercised
God is our ultimate provider and protector
Our utmost desire should be to become rich in the spirit
The Church becomes a den of thieves-by doing and promoting the things of the world instead of the word
The Bible teaches that if we have enough to meet our needs, be content with that
Godliness with contentment is a great gain
Contentment is very rare; many are not content with their home, car, income, spouse, children,…..the list goes on
Such people will never be content. They will always be craving for something
So, contentment is a state of mind to be achieved, more than what you have or what you don’t have
If you study Marketing, they will tell you that you need to have a “craving for money”
But Jesus taught the opposite. He invested not in stock or shares, but in people!
His principle is the best; invest in people!
Invest the word of God in your family, in your kids
China is investing in people-investing in education and things like that, big time
They found out that the best place to invest is in people
Are we investing anything in anybody?
How rich are we in the Spirit, in the word?
Read the word; read biblical books; pray in the spirit
May God bless you and help you to become rich in the Spirit
BG
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to take my focus away from that which perishes and to focus on that which lasts. Help me to become rich in your things. Amen
