Today: Know God; know the devil too!

 Passage:  James 5:8-9 NIV

8Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

God does not lie; His words are true

When the word says that the enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, it is true

God is real, so is the devil; if someone says there is no devil, it is the devil who makes them say that.

You can see religions coming up and religions coming down

These are days when the devil wants to make the things of Christ look insignificant, in the world

But our faith is not based on man’s approval; it is and should be based on God’s approval!

You may think that Christians will always stand up for their faith; not so!

Many are more concerned about man’s approval and positions; only a few are really about Christ

I see some people when I go to our conventions. When they see you in the lobby, they will greet you big time. But when they see you elsewhere, they don’t even know you!

Because, where there are “ten people” present, it is a matter of prestige

These people do not get inside the hall where the meeting/preaching is going on

They will stay in the lobby, ……..; they are “lobby” Christians

There are so many “dead” among the so called “living”

We need to get serious about the times we are living in, if we are serious about God and heaven

Love has become cold; faith has become rare. The coming of Jesus is at hand!

Selfishness is at its peak; everyone is about themselves

Each of us should remember that God is looking for people who will stand for him

He needs volunteers; God needs ambassadors; He needs witnesses and pray-ers!

We are very busy doing so many things in the name of the Lord, but God may be  missing us big time!

Adam was still busy when God came looking for him

Are we doing the things that God called us for?

Are we doing things that make sense to God?

It is time to ask those questions to ourselves

See what James goes on to say:

5Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
   ”God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”[a] 6Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (James 5: 5-7, NIV)

The word of God makes so much sense to me; it is the right word for the right time!

If the word of God does not make much sense to you, you are in a state of spiritual sickness; you need treatment! Go to the physician-Jesus- immediately. Tell Him all the symptoms. Don’t hide anything

Once we get closer to God, we become humble; we learn to respect God, we learn to respect people

God bless you and give you a blessed week end

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice. I am sorry for my pride and ego. I thank you for being an example and for being my best friend. Help me to be a disciple, a volunteer for you. Amen
