Today: He provides, where He guides you to

 Passage:  1 Kings 17: 5-6, 15 NIV

5 So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there.

6 The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family.

Elijah did what the Lord told him to do (v 5)

God took care of him, where he went. God ordered a ravine to feed Elijah

Until God told him to move from there, he never missed a meal

Then he was directed to go to the widow’s house in Zarephath

Elijah obeyed God again; he didn’t get “stuck” at Kerith, as many do

As Elijah told the woman to make a bread for him, she obeyed

That was her life; she had no more food left. She gave her “life” in obedience to God

When Elijah obeyed God, God not only took care of him, but also prepared others who would obey him

Many struggles in life could be because people do things their own way

We need to make sure that we make decisions as directed by the Lord, and not on our own. God will direct our paths, as we make our steps in obedience to God

Hearing the voice of God, is not easy

We must be willing to wait upon the Lord and listen to Him

When we apply for a job or get ready to move from one place to another, do we ask God about it?

Many a time, “No!” We just decide for ourselves and don’t even check with God!

Later on, we invite God to help us; God will still come, but we will pay some price

Israelites had a great victory at Jericho, as they entered the Promised Land

But as they were going to the next city “Ai”, they did not ask the Lord

They failed miserably

If Elijah had got stuck at Kerith because he liked it, that widow and her son would have died!

God sent him to her at the right time. He was a man of integrity

I have seen many people getting “stuck” to places and people, because of spiritual inertia; but later on, they fail

Jesus himself obeyed the father and came down to the earth

He met you at the point of your need, before you would perish! (John 3:16)

All you did, was to give your life to Him; he gave you eternal life in return

The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord

God provides, where he sends us. He provided Elijah with spiritual and physical resources

Later on, the only son of the widow died; crisis will come in our life of obedience, but God will provide the answer

God worked a miracle through Elijah, bringing the child back to life

God helps not only the ministers of God, but everybody who obeys God

God has given different responsibilities to each person

That woman’s responsibility was to give a place for the man of God, which she did

Elijah did not misuse the freedom; he was a man of integrity. God could trust him

God bless you and keep speaking with you

Prayer: Lord, thank you for sending your son Jesus into my life. He came at the right time, so that I did not perish. Thank you for all your help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
