Today: God or Gold?

Passage: 2 Cor 12: 9-10 NIV

9But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Yesterday, I heard on the radio that Gold is at an all-time high price

What about God? Where do you put God?

Things of God’s kingdom are just reciprocal to things of the world system

In the verses above, Paul says. “I will boast….about my weaknesses”

Then, he says, “..when I am weak, then I am strong”

To a normal person, those statements look like the words of someone who is not normal

But the spiritual man can understand the language of Paul

The strengths of the world system are weaknesses in front of God

That which the world consider “weak” could be a “strength” before God

14The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. 15He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of men, but God knows your hearts. What is highly valued among men is detestable in God’s sight.(Luke 16: 14-15, NIV-emphasis added)

That is why, we have a hope in God, when everything else lets us down

Yesterday, I was attending the funeral wake of a twelve year old

The preacher was asking a question, and this was it:

“We prepare for marriage and many other things; how many prepare for death?”

If we believe that we will meet Christ at His second coming before we die,

The question is: “Are we prepared to meet Christ?”

Our world views, our perspectives on life- are they in line with the Biblical one or the world systems?

The things of the world look great only up to a certain time

Many of the investments failed.

Even Gold will come down like a ball falling on the ground

The only thing you can trust, the only person you can lean on to, is God

Invest in God; you shall never be put to shame

Your time, talents, treasures- let all lead to God and His kingdom

The other day, many of us read the story of a young man who ended up his life because someone caught him in an act, in the video and then published it

What you and I must remember is this: nothing that we do is hidden to God

One day, everyone will stand in front of the Judge of all Judges

How will we feel then? God is no respecter of persons

Everything we do, is recorded by God

If things of God don’t make much sense to you today, tomorrow they will

9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Phil 2: 9-11, NIV)

One day, God will appear as the judge of all human beings, who ever lived upon earth

Hitler will be there; Mussolini will be there; name anybody-they will be there

As religions are tightening their belt, nations are tightening their belt too

Looks like everyone out there is getting ready for a fight or so!

Its’ almost time for the son of God to appear in the sky

It is time for the things of God to make more sense to us than the things of this world

Let me tell you: God is even more precious than Gold; His value will never come down

So invest in that which is stable; invest in God

Have a blessed weak-end

Prayer: Lord, I thank you because you are unchanging and your words are true. Help me to trust in you more than anything else, at all times, regardless of how my situations and circumstances are. d. Amen
