Today: Wanted: Overcomers!
Passage: Rom 12: 21NIV
] 21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good..
Preaching is easy; practicing is the difficult part
When good and evil come face to face, they don’t just say “Hi”
Instead, one overtakes the other
Who wins, is up to us. If we want “good” to win, the good wins
Sometimes, the line between the two can look so thin. We need good discernment
The key is, to have a principle in life. Some people change according to circumstances
Such people find themselves “comfortable” in any situation, but it will hurt at some point
People appreciate someone with a principle (even if it is wrong) than someone without any principle in life
As I am writing this, the UN meeting is going on at New York. World leaders have come together
Even though they sit under the same roof, they are all not of one opinion
Each have their own opinion. They represent their nation
We represent the nation of which we are citizens of
Each and every word, every thought, every action is important, and has its own consequences
When we speak by faith, miracles will happen.
The other day, I was going to a certain place, and I had to reach there at a certain time
But the traffic was terrible. I knew, it was impossible for me to reach my destination on time
I just said like this: “Lord, if I reach there on time, it will be a miracle”
To my amazement, I did reach there on time. I just couldn’t believe it. I didn’t drive too fast either
Have you tried speaking by faith? Let me tell you, it works; provided it is in accordance with God’s will
If we can speak “peace”, we will see peace coming into any troubled situation
Sometimes, devil will put all types of confusion into our hearts or home
Sometimes, it may be issues at work
But we have the medicine; we have the solution
All we need to do, is to apply it. Speak by faith. Hope for the best
As long as people are scattered, things are scattered, nothing good will happen
When we clean our home or car, we feel good. Order makes us active and more productive. A good shower or a walk in the park gives us an energy boost
Spending time with God, our spiritual exercises boosts the inner man
We hear the word “unity” all the time
But unity has a price, a cost behind it
If two people in the house have their own “hidden agenda” and try to speak to each other as if everything is “open” and clean, unity cannot come
We can sit together and sing together, but that will not bring unity
Unity comes from God. God is its author
God cannot bring unity as long as we hold on to our stuff. We have to let go things
We have to discard our selfish plans and follow God’s plan
Then, in such unity, even the walls of Jericho will fall
On the other hand, if we are divided, we can shout and praise all day ling, nothing will happen. It will be like how the people of Baal prayed for the fire to come down from above, all day long, and nothing happened (1 Kings 18)
Our prayers should be like that of Elijah. They should bring results, not because we beat ourself up, but because of God
There are only two results. We win or we loose. There is no third situation
Have a blessed week end

Prayer: Lord, help me to overcome evil with good, instead of repaying evil with evil. Teach me to pray effectively and speak faith to my situations and people. Amen
