Today: Pleasing God; loving others

 Passage:  Rom 12:3-5NIV

3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others..

I thank God for his word

What an awesome treasure!

You are having this treasure in your home; take it into your heart!

There are only a few who really meditate and apply the word in their daily lives

There are only few who take time to pray in the spirit

In the Church, we sometimes have guest ministers ministering to us

One of the things I noticed recently was that almost every body was emphasizing on the importance of praying in the spirit (1 Cor 14:15)

It is a very humbling experience; but as we pray and worship in the spirit in our personal prayers, it is a great strength

We yield our self to the spirit of God; we will be praying for things not even revealed to us

We are gifted; so is everybody else in Church

As we start seeing people through the eyes of God, it makes a big difference

At the last supper that Jesus had with His disciples, Jesus wrapped a towel on his waist and washed the feet of His disciples

What a great model we have in Jesus!

He did not pull anybody’s leg; one of His own did that to Jesus!

We need to learn from Jesus; we need to spend time with Him

One of the major reasons for failure in our Christian life and ministry is that we are not spending (enough) time with Jesus

Our priority should be God, family and then work

All these are important

When we put God first, He will take care of everything for us

If you make anything else more important than God, you will cry later

God has given each person, a certain measure of faith

We need to accept that. We should not simply compare people

Each person is good at something; we need to first identify what we are good at

We should clearly know our calling, our gift

Then look at the other person and find out what they are good at

Just like God was gracious to us, He was gracious to others as well

We sometimes show respect on the outside, like Judas Iscariot

But God looks at our attitudes. He knows what we think of each person out there

Our attitude determines our altitude

David was tortured by Saul, emotionally and in every way, for 38 years or so

But as he became King after as long wait, David’s first question was: “Is there anyone in Saul’s family that I can show some kindness to?” (2 Sam 9)

(Jonathan was Saul’s son, but that was not a problem for David to be a friend of Jonathan. David had a clean, spiritual friendship with Jonathan)

That was how a man called Mephibosheth got to eat from the King’s table even though he was not perfect

That is what Jesus did for us. We were enemies of the cross (Rom 5)

But He gave His life for us, because He loved us so much

What are we sacrificing for others?

Can we count others better than us?

It may take a long time for us to reach there; earlier the better

More than any ministry we do, it is important to have the attitude of Christ

That is more important even for God

Being is more important than doing

May God keep speaking to us this week-end

Prayer: Lord, help me to be what you want me to be. It doesn’t matter how much it costs; I want to please you more than myself or anybody else. I want to be a reflection of you, to others. Thank you. Amen
