Today: Love, honor, zeal

 Passage:  Rom 12:9-11NIV

9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

Love, commitment, honor, zeal, service…

If you make a list of things that are vanishing away from us, these will be the toppers

Real love is rarely seen. What we often see under the guise of “Love” is selfish love which can also be called lust

“Lust” asks, “what can I get?” and “Love” asks, “what can I give?”

Love must be sincere; otherwise, it is not love

When the church calls itself the “body of Christ” and does the show the love that is found in Christ, it is a paradox

Many a time, Christ is knocking from the outside; we are too busty to hear!

Hating evil is another thing, which is absent among us today

We will probably avoid evil, but are scared to hate it

We keep it somewhat close to us like a “bitter medicine” and once in a while, take some of it

We may say, “I don’t go that (bad) website often, but only once in a while….”

Let us not do anything that can give the devil a “claim” on us!

Many of our blessings are “blocked” by these “little foxes”

When men of God in the Bible did some mistakes that looked rather small, great was the punishment!

Honor is another character that is missing!

“If I make more than him, why should I honor him?”

If you are a Christian believer, the Bible says that we all should honor each other

It does not matter whether the husband makes more, or the wife makes more

Everybody has to respect each other. Children have to be given the respect they deserve – neither more nor less

The beauty and health we have, is not permanent

If we got good education, it is none of our merit. It was all God’s blessing

Finally, everybody gets qualified for six feet of soil here

Honor is given and received. If we honor others, we will get it back

Zeal and spiritual fervor is another thing we see lacking

The zeal is in us, not for God, but to please people!

We are ashamed of Christ; we are more concerned about our image!

But God is the God of Daniel. When Daniel dared to honor God, God honored him

Be careful, when you put God down

Put God first and He will make you first

We need to be wise, but not to the point of putting God down

Remember: Jesus became a public spectacle for us on the cross

The love of Jesus is our greatest resource

Some people think that if we have a zeal for Christ we cannot love and honor others

Look at Jesus

Love and honor are the best friends of commitment to Jesus

We love others regardless of color, culture or religion

Have a blessed week ahead
