Today: Know who you believe?

 Passage:  Ps 77:13 NIV

13 Your ways, O God, are holy.
What god is so great as our God?. (emphasis added)

30 How could one man chase a thousand, or two put ten thousand to flight,
unless their Rock had sold them, unless the LORD had given them up?

31 For their rock is not like our Rock, as even our enemies concede. (Deuteronomy 32: 30-31, NIV-emphasis added)

It is important to know who/what you believe, before speaking about any other faith or belief

Living in a pluralistic world, you and I need to be the sources of light to those who live in darkness; there is so much of darkness out there

Everyday, we deal with so many things and find little or no time to spend with God

The other day, I just happened to see the theme of a youth convention, as “Chasing after God”

It may look little odd, but I have been encouraged by books like “God chasers” by Tommy Tenny

We have time and passion to run after many other things but God!

We would rather wait for God to come after us

Only those with an enquiring mind will receive anything from God

God says, “Come near to me, and I will come near to you”

That does not mean that God will never come near to us, unless we go to Him

When a child is in the earlier stages, parents take much care to see that someone is always with the child

But, as they are grown up, they don’t do that. The child will come to the parent he/she needs to

In the same way, God is expecting us to know who He is, and go to Him

He is available, willing and ready at all times

The more we go to Him, the more blessed we will be

In Psalm 77, the psalmist is asking God so many questions, before coming to verse 13, where he asks,        “What god is so great as our God?”

Those who experienced this God can never turn back

That is why many people have become Martyrs for Jesus

They experienced this God. This God is a God worth living and dying for

He is a shepherd who was willing to give His own life for His sheep

The psalmist goes on to say:

14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.

15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.

God has done miracles for His children

Even today, this God is enough for all your problems

The psalmist started with cry, but ends with joy and confidence

Pour out your heart to God; tell Him everything; He understands

It is better to trust in God than in any man

If we live and worship right, the power of God will be manifested in our homes, City and the nation

If we pray right, many problems will not even come up

And those that come up, just hand them over to God and relax!

We taste God better in our problems than in our good times; our God is closer to us as we go through troubles

Knowing God right will help us know others right

We will treat others right, as we start treating God right

That includes people in our home, work and in everywhere else

Jesus is our role model. Can you find a better role-model than Jesus?

I haven’t found one yet!

Have a blessed week

Prayer: Lord, help me to know you better. I admit my ignorance of not spending time with you and not knowing you as I should. So help me God.
